I am not afraid, though I could be fooling you for I cling tightly to the only thing I know for sure.
I wrap myself in the warmth of the sunlight and the safety of good smelling foliage.
I wiggle in slow waves toward the center where I cannot be seen.
Hide my face, camouflage my body.
You don’t know the burden of this beauty I carry hidden in my folds.
I build my cocoon because I remember that one day I will have wings but..
I am not afraid because I know that my wings have always been with me and I make the choice to fly.
